Oldie but goodie

We had a garage sale last weekend. While I was tearing through some old boxes looking for junk to sell. I came across this gem.

This image is from one of the first rolls of film I shot in my first photography class.

I so wanted to go to art school right after high school but my parents didn’t understand what the hell I would do with an art school degree. Maybe they thought I wasn’t serious about it. So to prove them wrong I entered our community college and took all the art classes I could.

One of those classes was a photography course.

The minute I saw a print that I had taken develop in that flat tray. I knew that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

My grandma told me at an early age the secret to life: Do what you love to do and make a living at it.

I was 19 years old when I took this photo.  It’s a self-portrait. Check out the Dr. Martens. I miss those boots.

Everyday I wake up stoked to go to work.  I feel so fortunate that I found what I wanted to do at such a young age.

Thanks for the heads up Grandma.

NY Times Magazine shooting slow motion.

Yesterday’s New York Times Magazine has some sick photos and video from Dewey Nicks.

The video is done with a Phantom Flex that shoots 1250 fps. Beautiful stuff!

Brunet-Garcia has new site and new name.

Just got an email from Jorge Brunet announcing their new brand and name change.

I think the word minority is extinct. The world is getting smaller. Their name change is right on.

I’m always stoked when I get a chance to work with this advertising agency.

Blog looks killer too. www.culturefried.com

Beautiful website!  Jorge’s hat is priceless.

Check em out.

The Stache- Redo by Levi

Levi over at The Urban South approached me a while ago about using one of my moustache photos for an illustration. When I saw what he had planned I was stoked to collaborate with him. Here it is on his blog with a brief description of the process.

Here are some more moustaches. I am still shooting this project so if anyone wants their stache photographed Let me know.

Thanks for the opportunity Levi! I’ve got an arsenal of imagery if you ever want to collaborate again.

New Project. I’m Teal. Are you?

After watching the Jacksonville Jaguar’s game day attendance get smaller and smaller every passing year. I decided I wanted to do something to create a buzz.  My idea is to create a photography campaign that questions our citizens fandom.

I’ve been threatening to do this project for awhile. Thanks to my guinea pigs? Mike Romero, Ben Davis, and Josh Klinger.

I need peeps to photograph.  If anyone out there wants to pose for a portrait please let me know.
