I’m Teal. Are you? – Kevyn Faulkenberry

I photographed Kevyn Faulkenberry last week for the I’m Teal. Are you? project.

Kevyn is a Creative Director at The Dalton Agency and a die hard Jags fan!

We photographed inside the downtown agency. Great building.

Thanks Kevyn!  Always good to see you.

Oldie but goodie

We had a garage sale last weekend. While I was tearing through some old boxes looking for junk to sell. I came across this gem.

This image is from one of the first rolls of film I shot in my first photography class.

I so wanted to go to art school right after high school but my parents didn’t understand what the hell I would do with an art school degree. Maybe they thought I wasn’t serious about it. So to prove them wrong I entered our community college and took all the art classes I could.

One of those classes was a photography course.

The minute I saw a print that I had taken develop in that flat tray. I knew that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

My grandma told me at an early age the secret to life: Do what you love to do and make a living at it.

I was 19 years old when I took this photo.  It’s a self-portrait. Check out the Dr. Martens. I miss those boots.

Everyday I wake up stoked to go to work.  I feel so fortunate that I found what I wanted to do at such a young age.

Thanks for the heads up Grandma.
